As mentioned in our guide to obtain a security license in the State of Florida, 40 hours of security guard training have to be successfully completed in order for you to get your Florida security license. Training has to be completed at one of the state certified training schools. The applicants are free to choose between the following 2 options:
- Complete the Full 40 hours of Florida security guard training before submitting your license application.
- Complete 24 hours of training before you submit your license application. Once this 24 hour course is completed, you will be issued a temporary D License. The remaining 16 hours must be completed within 180 days of the day you completed the 24 hours.
